Asian Beetles

Size: 7 mm

Appearance: Orange with black dots, a black head and oval body.

Habitat: In the U.S., they feed on aphids not only in trees but also in agricultural crops and gardens. In fact, the multicolored Asian lady beetle is an important predator of soybean aphids, a serious pest of soybeans in the Midwest states.

Potential Harm: Can be a nuisance when they fly to buildings in search of overwintering sites and end up indoors. Once inside they crawl about on windows, walls, attics, etc., often emitting a noxious odor and yellowish staining fluid before dying.
